Vintage Dr. Seuss Bright and Early, and Beginner Books, book club edition written by Seuss and as "Theo. LeSieg". Publication/edition dates vary, with original copyrights from 1957 - 1978, in good condition for their age. These matte finish editions measure 9.25" x 6.75". PLEASE BE AWARE: the matte finished books do NOT age particularly well, in that they are dirt magnets. White covers are particularly problematic, often appearing very grubby, and attracting all manner of stains. Many copies show wear, especially along cover edges and spines, and fading/discoloration is to be expected. Notable flaws are identified below, by title and, where space allows, photos are provided illustrating imperfections. We are more than happy to send additional photos on request. We have dozens of copies that don't meet our standards for listing in our Etsy shop so, if there is a book you are looking for, but don't see, please ask as we may have a copy that will meet your needs. Indicated price is per book – simply select the desired title(s) from the drop-down menu. Combined shipping applied at check-out. Printed in USA.
The Cat in the Hat - soft cover corners; shelf wear along spine; name stamped on title page.
The Foot Book - cover and spine (uniformly) yellowed.

As with all vintage books, wear including scuffing, fading, dog ears, crushed/soft cover corners, minor tears etc., are to be expected. Our books are sold in “as is” condition. Significant flaws (large tears, scribbles, inscriptions, water damage) are noted by book title (see above), and in photos where space permits. Please take a careful look at the photos provided, read the attached descriptions and, if any of these potential issues are particularly important to you, contact us prior to check-out for specific details about the copy being shipped. When multiple copies are in inventory, we will always ship the book that is in the BEST condition. If you don’t see the title you’re looking for, please see our other listings and/or contact us for assistance; we have many unlisted titles and keep a list of books to watch for while sourcing new items “in the wild”.

Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. I'm not responsible for delays due to customs.
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
Due to NEW Customs rules (effective August 29, 2025), import duties/tariffs will be charged to most packages entering the U.S., based on the current tariff rate of the country of origin i.e. where the product was made. Our shop ships via Chit Chats, a third party service that utilizes partner carriers like Canada Post, and USPS for "final mile" delivery. Packages destined for the USA are subject to DDP postage (Delivered Duty Paid), meaning extra fees are paid up-front, so there won't be any surprises on the recipients' end on arrival. Listings that do not indicate shipping options for our American customers can, in most cases, still be shipped - we just have to calculate and collect the associated fees. Contact us for details.
An ad valorem tariff rate, based on a product's country of origin (where it was made), and calculated as a percentage of an item's value, will apply to the majority of our listings. For listings that do not indicate a U.S. destined delivery fee, please contact us with your address: we are more than happy to complete the requisite paper work to determine any additional fees associated with your product(s) of choice, and create a private listing for said item(s).
We have added Country of Origin to each of our listings to assist you, should you prefer to "guesstimate" extra fees on your own. You can check online tariff tools or search "international tariff rates by country", or contact U.S. Customs and Border Control. We can not ship items with indeterminate country of origin, at this time. Again, we're happy to contact our shipping partner to determine the exact fees associated with the item(s) you're interested in: simply contact us, and include a shipping address.
Fellow Canadians, shopping at Where the Wild Finds Are, will not incur additional fees due to U.S. tariffs.
The shipping cost for single book purchases is a direct reflection of the brokerage fees incurred to ship to the U.S. following the imposition of tariffs and termination of the de minimis exemption. To help offset the increase, we have reduced the cost for additional titles shipped in the same order to $2. All orders are shipped with tracking and insurance, protecting both buyer and seller from loss or damage. Shipping overages, when they occur, are refunded.
